Time For A Change In Iraq
Dear Friends,
Yesterday I took to the Senate floor to talk about why it is time for a change in Iraq and to call on Republicans to stop playing partisan politics with the war while our troops are in harm's way. I spoke out in favor of the Levin amendment, which calls for a transition in strategy that will bring stability to the country and allow the troops to begin coming home.
I wanted to share with you some excerpts from my remarks. I encourage you to read the full text on my website at http://www.hillaryclinton.com/speech/view/?id=953.
I think it is time to choose whether or not we believe we have the right road map for success in Iraq. While our troops are serving bravely and with our national security in the balance, it is time to choose what is more important, a strategy to win in Iraq or a strategy for Republicans to win elections here at home....I believe we must end our current open-ended, unconditional policy in Iraq. These decisions require serious debate, one without partisan political attacks.
I support this responsible way forward, a road map for success that will more quickly and effectively take advantage of Iraqi oil revenues, build up Iraqi infrastructure, foster Iraqi civil society, challenge Iraq's neighbors to do more to ensure stability in Iraq and allow our troops to begin coming home....
Let's be clear about what this debate is about. My friends on the other side of the aisle believe that the status quo is working in Iraq. They do not believe we need a fundamental change in policy. They choose to continue blindly following the president. We Democrats disagree. We believe we need a new direction in Iraq that will increase the chances for success on the ground....
They may not have a war strategy, but they do have an election strategy. This is the road they took America down in 2002. It was a dead end for our country then, and it's a dead end now....
This is not a time for partisanship. It is past time for this administration to level with the American people, for this Congress to find its voice and fulfill its constitutional duties to check and balance the Executive Branch, and for the Iraqis to chart a clear and responsible path to stability and peace....
The conflict in Iraq has now gone on longer than U.S. fighting in the Korean War before the armistice. We ought not to attack one another for asking the tough questions and presenting alternatives about how to achieve success, limit the loss and sacrifice of our young men and women.
Sincerely,
Hillary Rodham Clinton

Dear Hillary,
Like most Americans, I can say that I am really sick of Clintons. Can you please just move to Canada, and take Bill and all those in Hollywierd with you.
Thanks a bunch.
Sincerely,
Jenn
Lol,
She obviously fails to realize that she could still come across your blog even if you lived in Thailand. All you have to do is select that you are from America if you live in Canada and jenn would still have to pass by this blog.
Hey, go to Just Say NO to Hillary to see how she claims Hillary caused the flag burning amendment to fail. I find her claim quite funny.
jenn needs serious psychiatric help
The change we need in Iraq is to move more firmly in snuffing out the insurgents, for example with more targeted, Zarqawi-like killings of key terrorist barbarian leaders. Jenn realizes just fine what's going on in American politics, in any case, and she's got a nice blog to prove it! Hillary's a flip-flopper just like Kerry was, unable to commit to the Iraqi deployment (and wanting to it have both ways in her Senate voting).
Burkean Reflections
oh i know and bush never flip flops on anything. ever.
and i have an oil field in the middle of the amazon jungle surrounded by pigmies too.
Hillary is not the one to lead the United States back to it's roots where we were truly a free society that supported and respected rights to privacy. She is just another puppet of the new world order and I will continue to believe this until she starts speaking up about things like the "Military Commissions Act", amd "The Patriot Act".
This video clip is a high quality clip from an independent film called "Washington You're Fired".
It is about a 15 minutes clip and if you want to own it so you can share it click on the down arrow on the bottom left of the player.
Washington You're Fired
Correction,
As for the Patriot Act, Clinton was onboard four square when it was introduced and passed into law in 2001. She reaffirmed her support for the destruction of the Constitution, in particular the Fourth Amendment, in 2006 when she voted to renew the draconian act. It should be remembered she also voted to kill one million plus Iraqis, although Change did not have a chance to ask her about that.
Of course, if elected, Clinton will not move to repeal the Patriot Act or the Military Commissions act. Because these are cumulative tools put into place by our rulers, who will eventually whip up another crisis and declare martial law. Clinton will need to nullify the Fourth Amendment rights of all Americans, that is if Bush does not beat her to the punch before January, 2009, so leaving this legislation in place will be required.
